Finally returned to reading A Peace to End All Peace. I’m learning a lot by reading it, but I think the most valuable lesson is that I had a really shitty education.
Did you know that the Russian Revolution of 1917 occurred not because of an evil sorcerer name Rasputin who had a tiny bat friend voiced by Hank Azaria, but rather because of war profiteering, unnecessary famine, and the...
I have no problem accepting that Newsweek uses Tumblr. What’s weird to me is that Newsweek follows and reblogs the posts of regular human beings. There are people out there who see the phrase “Newsweek likes this.” Or “Newsweek reblogged this.” I keep picturing a magazine with hands “liking” kitten videos.
For a straight lady, I sure seem to follow a lot of people who post girlie photos.

Put something new into the world, reposters. I dare you. Define yourself by yourself, not by something you “discovered” 20 minutes before somebody else.

Happy Monthly Mister Rogers Quote Day, everyone.
lindsaykatai.com
It took forever, but I finally got my domain name to point to this tumblr, instead of to my long neglected Blogspot blog.
Part of the reason it took forever is because I didn’t want my name in my e-mail address twice, so I’d made the e-mail for the account “marktwain [at] lindsaykatai [dot] com.” And then I promptly forgot I did that.
Good job, 2007 Katai.

I am in a coffee shop right now and my “silent” laughter is starting to get out of control and embarrassing. I should leave. (does not leave)
Hey, guy with the clown horn outside my window?
I’m not saying I’m going to kill you if you don’t stop, but I am saying I have a communicable respiratory infection to which you might want to show some respect. My communicable respiratory infection can be your communicable respiratory infection, and then how will you be able to get up in the morning to call attention to your questionable, cart-transported food stuffs?
Favorite moment last night:
When the management at the bar we were at put the TV on Mad Men, everyone I know started screaming, “NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” Then covered their ears and closed their eyes until Joel got up and changed the channel.
White people HATE Mad Men spoilers.

Heather Thomson’s new site. I love how simple it turned out. I also loved how we did it all in one day and capped it off by watching Sorority Wars on Lifetime. I have a thing for shitty movies.
If any of you need a website, I highly recommend Mr. Ron Babcock.

What in the fuck? Is it fucking 1842?
Dear Upstairs Neighbors,
From the sound of it, none of you are having an easy time right now. Apparently, someone male died. Murmur murmur murmur. And someone is someone’s dad now. Murmur murmur murmur. And someone is most certainly NOT GOING. Murmur door slam. It’s rough. I know.
But I don’t think you’re taking into account how disturbing this is for me and my mom. WHO...

“I’m fairly convinced that the Kingdom of God is for the broken hearted.”
- Fred McFeely Rogers
I love Fred Rogers deeply and have for as long as I can remember. I think he’s the reason that as a child, I would donate birthday money to PBS pledge drives. I think he’s the reason I dressed up as Martin Luther King, Jr. for an elementary school biography project (of...
Lists
After much deliberation, I have changed the name of my Twitter list “Permanent Follow Friday.” I no longer wanted it to seem like there are people I follow who don’t deserve endorsement. I love everyone. But there is a group of people (mostly strangers or people who I almost primarily interact with online) who sort of make up the bulk of my Twitter experience. Like being in...

I was thinking of writing a Capri Sun sketch.
