Since “Voices That Care” made a bit of a comeback on the internet last week i figured it’s time to dust off ‘Sun City” by Artists United Against Apartheid.  In case you were wondering what the point of the song, well the chorus pretty much tells you, these artists are NOT going to play Sun City.

Think of this as the “hipper” version of “We Are The World” mostly because Lou Reed and Run DMC show up to sing and Miles Davis plays some horns.  The song was headed up by Stevie Van Zandt which means he was able to get Bruce Springsteen to show up in a black leather jacket and walk down the street for the video (and boy does Bruce sound pissed).

I’m sort of taking focus away from a deeper message about racial inequality, but am I the only one who thinks they sampled a bit from the theme to Clarissa Explains It All?  You’ll really see what I’m talking at about 0:51.
