Ron’s pictures from his trip around the world have been really stunning.  Just beautiful.  Every time I see one, I have the thought, “I would never have taken a picture that beautiful.”  Now, however, it is official.  Because I spent a terrible month in Barcelona five years ago, I took pictures of the mind-blowing Sagrada Familia, and not a one came out even in the same class of photography as this picture.  Well done, Ron.

PICTURES FROM MY TRIP AROUND THE WORLD: #49Location: Barcelona, Spain - Sagrada Familia
This is a Catholic church that has been under construction since 1882 and won’t be completed till at least 2026. It’s considered one of Gaudi’s masterpieces and is hands down the most awe-inspiring church I have ever seen. It’s just so different from other cathedrals.
It’s strange how much I enjoyed walking around the Sagrada Familia, considering I rarely go to church anymore. I still bless myself though whenever I pass a cemetery or hear a siren. It’s just part of my Catholic upbringing. I grew up next to a firehouse, so the whole family was always flailing their arms about like rubber bands. In college, I turned into a cafeteria Catholic. I picked and choose what to belive in and over time, I’ve become a really picky eater. I guess you could say I’m all full from the last supper.
Zinger!
