Ahem.
Belle saves the Beast by snatching him out of a near-free fall. And then she helps him scale the side of a building. The turning back into a prince was separate. And I wouldn’t call true love and compassion “sexuality.” It’s her ability to see more than just a beast that is an asset.
As for the others, I would argue that much is made of their terrible, terrible positions in life. Frankly, it’s not Disney’s fault that history has been screwing women over since the beginning of time and that these centuries-old stories reflect the dead ends our gender once left us with.
How about this? No one cuts off their toes and Ariel doesn’t kill herself.
Plus, Dory finds Nemo and Eve saves Wall-E. The new stories are getting it right.
