Highlights From Yesterday’s Disneyland Trip
- Seeing David, Eric, and Alex for the first time in years + meeting Alex’s girlfriend Nodira
- Tiana’s Steamboat Jubilee (managed to retroactively make me like The Princess and the Frog more)
- Nonsensical quote from David in New Orleans Square: “Turn the Gumbo Dial to Jambalaya.”
- David taking my suggestion that he accessorize his pirate sword by wearing “emerald” and “purple” gems on his fingers.
- David breaking his pirate sword by hitting things with it.
- spontaneous group skipping
- the triumphant, albeit slightly ridiculous return of Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln
- one of the paintings of Lincoln managed to look exactly like Lincoln, yet exactly like David Duchovny at the same time
- ridiculous capper to Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln: a graphic/song urging America to “keep dreaming,” followed by an eagle’s shadow taking flight across the room
- in the “Sprirt of Innovation” photo section after Lincoln exhibit: a photo of Obama, a photo of Sotomayor, and then worst photo of Bill Gates ever taken - showing him holding a laptop circa 1995 as if holding it to the gods for approval
- in the “Spirit of Giving” photo section after Lincoln exhibit: a photo of Edward James Olmos. SO SAY WE ALL.
- last Indy spoken line on the Indiana Jones ride: “Don’t tell me that wasn’t big fun.” And then the ride stalled and we had to watch Indy saucily place his hand on his hip and sway as if to say, “I’m a little teapot.”
